With all the Oktoberfests and wine events that take place in the fall, it can leave you wondering if there are any fun things to do in Denver, Colorado that don’t involve alcohol. The short answer is… YES! It turns out that the Mile High City has quite a number of exciting activities and events that have nothing to do with alcohol.

Extreme Sports Exhibition

When: Opens Sept. 13, 2019

Where: Denver Museum of Nature and Science

Details: This exhibit promises to be an extremely good time. Find out what it takes to be an extreme athlete in all forms: In the air, on snow and ice, in the water, on the rocks, and on the ground.

 

Denver Aquarium – Otter Weekend

Where: Denver Aquarium

Details: With all the fascinating marine life to behold, you could easily spend a full day exploring the different exhibits. Otter Weekend in mid-October sounds like an especially great time with North American River Otter-themed activities.

Boulder Fall Fest

When: Sept. 13-15

Where: Downtown Boulder and the Pearl Street Mall

Details: A 3-day autumn festival features local food, live music, children’s entertainment/activities and featuring over 100 artisans in Firefly Handmade Markets’ Fall Show on the historic Pearl Street Mall.

 

Free Night at the Museums

When: Nov. 2, 2019

Where: Multiple museums

Details: The dinosaurs may not come to life, but this is still a great opportunity to explore the many magnificent museums of Denver. From 5-10 p.m. on Nov. 2, select museums in Denver will be open for free, post-hours exploration. A fantastic family outing!
