The loss and grief caused by addiction is endless and it touches all of our lives in some way. Millions of souls have lost the battle. Losing the life of a sibling is unbearable. Our CEO, Jordan Hamilton, has lost many people in his life from addiction and mental health. Then he lost his older brother to overdose in 2018 after a long battle with addiction. Nine months after he lost his brother, he lost his younger stepsister to an overdose driven by her battle with mental health. It’s a heartache that drives him to continue to work in the trenches of addiction and mental health to provide the support, resources, and community to families and individuals suffering from the disease of addiction and mental health issues. To help men and their families find recovery and healing has become his life’s work.
Jordan fought his own battle with addiction from an early age and his story is simply miraculous. He was 13 years old the first time he entered a long-term program, unfortunately that experience was wrought with abuse. He had a long and difficult road ahead. After years of struggling as an adolescent and young adult, including multiple treatment episodes, Jordan found freedom and recovery in 2008. That journey led him down a path that became his mission to give back to the community and families who are experiencing challenges and struggles with addiction. Choice House was designed to give our men the absolute best chance to recover and build a life they can be excited about. Choice House is structured as a year-long full-continuum of care program that has resources and a community available to you and your loved ones even after completing treatment. Brave Soul: To Those Who Have Lost A Loved One
Brave Soul is a song about Jordan’s older brother, written and sung by Jordan’s younger sister Emma Grace, and produced by one of Jordan’s closest friends, Nick Miller. Most of the world knows him as Illenium. He’s of the most impactful and successful EDM producers in the US and has a massive global fan base. The song has become an anthem for so many who have lost someone they love to addiction.
Brave Soul is one of the most personal songs I’ve worked on. Emma and I wrote it late one night, thinking about her and Jordan’s brother, who we lost to an overdose. We wanted to turn that pain into something real—a way to honor him and reflect on the strength it takes to keep going. We know so many people are in that same pain. Playing it live for the first time was unforgettable, seeing the crowd connect with that story. It’s a connection that feels universal—a reminder that whether it’s you or someone you know, there’s a community out there that understands.

Overdose
Overdose deaths have become a tragic and escalating crisis across the United States. Signs of Overdose
Recognizing the signs of an overdose can be crucial in preventing severe health consequences or death. According to the American Addiction Centers, common signs of overdose include:
- Unresponsiveness or Unconsciousness: The individual cannot be awakened or does not respond to external stimuli.
- Slow or Irregular Breathing: Breathing may become very slow, irregular, or cease entirely.
- Blue or Pale Skin: The skin, especially lips and fingertips, may turn blue or pale due to lack of oxygen.
- Choking or Gurgling Sounds: These sounds may indicate that the airway is obstructed.
- Vomiting: The individual may vomit and be unable to clear their airway.
- Slow Heart Rate: A significantly reduced heart rate is a critical sign of an overdose.
- Seizures: Overdose can trigger seizures, which can be dangerous and require immediate medical attention.
- Extreme Drowsiness: The person may be extremely drowsy or unable to stay awake.
- Confusion or Disorientation: The individual might appear confused, disoriented, or demonstrate abnormal behavior.
- Pinpoint Pupils: Very small, constricted pupils are a common sign, especially with opioid overdoses.
