Behavioral Health Technician

Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Job Category: Clinical Support

Direct Supervisor: Director of Operations

Position Type/Classification: Part-Time, Exempt

Role and Responsibilities

Behavioral Health Technicians perform services involving milieu management, ensuring daily program schedule adherence, planning and implementation of recreational, therapeutic and educational services.

Job Duties Include:

  • Facilitates individual and group therapeutic activities including coaching, milieu management, and case management.
  • Provides feedback to the clinical team in regard to client’s level of motivation, participation in group activities and milieu interactions
  • Upholds program rules, guidelines and policies and assists clients in following all rules, guidelines and policies.
  • Provides transportation to and from client appointments
  • Helps to assesses, collaborate and coordinate client’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the clinical team.
  • Obtains urine drug test specimens and breathalyzer tests
  • Maintain safety of the milieu at all times. This includes awareness of client location and high-risk situations
  • Maintain daily program schedule and special events schedule
  • Document shift summary reports and sends via email
  • Follow all requirements when dispensing and/or providing medication to clients
  • Performs light janitorial duties
  • Performs bed checks per shift requirement

Qualifications and Education Requirements

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.  Bachelor’s Degree in field related to counseling, therapy, social sciences preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Personal and/or professional experience with treatment facilities and/or work with addictions and mental health populations is preferred. Able to demonstrate strategic decision-making, problem solving skills and timely documentation.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Colorado certification for addiction counseling, CACII, CACIII, MAC or LAC preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; constant/repetitive standing; requires normal, correctable vision and hearing, and the ability to accurately discern color as necessary to perform job.

Conflict Resolution skills.  Able to maintain emotional balance in stressful/difficult situations. Computer skills.  Driving ability.

Primary Therapist

Job Title: Primary Therapist

Job Category: Clinical Support

Direct Supervisor: Director of Clinical Services

Position Type/Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Role and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing safety, supervision and follow through in all domains related to efficient and effective care and treatment services.
  • Responsible for timely documentation, family, referral and collateral calls.
  • Management of client caseload to ensure, at minimum, two individual therapy sessions per week
  • Responsible for completing admission paperwork in timely manner (Clinical Summary, Psychosocial Assessment, review of intake paperwork, release of information forms, etc.….)
  • Responsible for clinical documentation needs that meet requirements of insurance and state compliance standards
  • Developing collaborative relationships with local clinicians
  • Hosting and participating in Choice House clinical events
  • Provides group facilitation
  • Responsible for referral and family contact, at minimum, one time per week
  • Utilizes appropriate teaching methods and/or referrals to ensure client educational needs are met.
  • Assesses, collaborates and coordinates client’s discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other members of the clinical team.

Associate Clinical Director

Job Title: Associate Clinical Director

Job Category: Clinical Support

Direct Supervisor: Director of Clinical Services

Position Type/Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Role and Responsibilities

  • General supervision of clinical team.
  • Weekly individual supervision of the clinical team.
  • Weekly leadership meeting with executive, operations and admissions directors.
  • Weekly meeting with Clinical Director and Executive Director.
  • Weekly audit of all client charts.
  • Participate in weekly clinical meeting and ensuring efficiency in staffing.
  • Become familiar with KIPU system as a user and Manager, train clinical staff to use KIPU, oversee documentation and charting by clinical staff
  • Maintain phone availability on weekends and evenings for crisis management and staff consultation.
  • Provide support to Marketing Director/Admission Coordinator during admissions process.
  • Monday-Friday on-site, 9am-5pm schedule.
  • Work in concert with the Clinical Director and Executive Director to enhance/maintain program quality, innovation and integrity.
  • Perform crisis interventions with staff and clients as required.
  • Assign clients to clinicians and manage distribution of clinician’s caseloads.
  • Manage CHC standards around charting and documentation.
  • Facilitate clinical groups as needed or otherwise indicated.
  • Provide feedback and input around performance evaluations for clinical staff to the Executive Director.
  • Ensure a professional and positive initial intake experience for all new clients.
  • Monitor clients' medications and medical condition with consulting physician, psychiatrist or other providers including detox admissions.
  • Set example to all staff and clients with Choice House standards and principles of professional communication, honesty, tolerance, vulnerability and integrity.
